Welcome in the Piatra Craiului National Park

Carpathian Nature Tours is more than just a travel agency – our company also owns its own guesthouse, Villa Hermani. It is located at an altitude of 1,020 metres in the mountain village of Măgura, in the heart of Piatra Craiului National Park and only 6 kilometres from the famous Dracula Castle in Bran.
When deciding to open a guesthouse in the remote shepherd village of Măgura, the idea of doing something to combat rural depopulation and thus prevent the destruction of the valuable cultural landscape played a role alongside the uniquely beautiful landscape. Carpathian Nature Tours and Villa Hermani were pioneers in Măgura in terms of creating stable jobs: since 2004, Villa Hermani has provided 10 permanent jobs throughout the year, enabling some families to secure their livelihoods and remain in the village.
The guesthouse was opened in 2004, is certified by the AER ecotourism association and has been awarded the ‘blue swallow’ by ‘Verträglich Reisen’ (Sustainable Travel). It is run by the German-Transylvanian-Saxon family Hermann and Katharina Kurmes and their son Leonard Kurmes according to Western European quality standards.
